How GoTo Connect enabled Fiotec to have a flexible work model for employees and save 20% in costs

Fiotec, the private non‑profit foundation that supports Fiocruz’s scientific and technological projects, faced urgent communications challenges after growth, a move to a larger headquarters, and the shift to remote work during the COVID‑19 pandemic. Reliant on an aging PABX and office landlines — and having suffered a 48‑hour carrier outage — Fiotec needed a modern, cloud‑based unified communications solution and selected GoTo’s GoTo Connect platform.

GoTo implemented GoTo Connect to centralize phone management and replace the physical PABX, enabling nearly 400 users in Rio de Janeiro and Brasília to work remotely using company mobile devices with the GoTo app. Since the early‑2021 rollout Fiotec reports no phone tickets, improved operational continuity, and a 20% cost savings; GoTo’s solution also raised IT’s strategic role and, with partner Loupen supporting training, paved the way for further modernization.
