Case Study: Leigh Academies Trust achieves standardised, simplified cloud telephony and reduced IT workload with GoTo Connect

A GoTo Case Study

GoTo Connect enables Trust to standardise, upgrade and simplify telephone systems for its academies

Leigh Academies Trust, a multi‑academy trust running more than 30 primary, secondary and special academies across Kent, Medway and South East London, faced a patchwork of 15 disparate, often outdated telephone systems (including ISDN and hard‑wired lines) inherited as new schools joined the Trust. With the imminent digital switchover, the Trust needed a cloud‑based telephony solution that could be rolled out quickly, centrally managed without specialist skills or new hardware; they chose GoTo and its GoTo Connect cloud telephony platform.

GoTo, supported by implementation partner SaaSCom, piloted GoTo Connect at Stationers’ Crown Woods Academy and then rapidly deployed it across priority sites, standardising systems in over half of the Trust’s academies. The GoTo Connect rollout simplified administration, required minimal IT input, reduced the workload on the IT team, and improved call handling and routing through an intuitive interface and dial‑plan editor, delivering a much improved phone experience for staff and callers.
