Grofers Building a hyperlocal delivery service using Google Cloud Platform

Grofers, an India-based hyperlocal mobile e-commerce platform, needed to replace a manual logistics system that was struggling with rapid growth, weekend traffic spikes, and database crashes. The company turned to Google Cloud Platform, using Google App Engine and Google Cloud Endpoints to build a scalable backend and mobile apps for its delivery operations.

Google Cloud Platform helped Grofers automate driver assignment, speed up app development, and scale quickly, with the backend reportedly built in just two weeks. As a result, Grofers grew from 10,000 to more than 70,000 orders per day, increased deliveries per driver from five to nearly 15, and maintained 100 percent uptime, all while keeping cloud costs to a small share of infrastructure spending.
