Amaranth FC, a community football club with around 200 members and 12 teams, struggled with fragmented fee collection—cash, standing orders and bank transfers—which caused errors, missed payments and roughly £3,000 in unpaid subscriptions. GoCardless set up Direct Debit collection integrated with Sage50 so 95% of members now pay automatically, reconciliation is posted into the accounts, and debt recovery can be managed via instalments. The result: treasurer time was halved (from about eight to four hours a month), outstanding debts fell from ~£3,000 to under £100 (≈95% reduction), and Amaranth FC gained steadier cash flow to reinvest in the club.
