One Element, a social fitness company founded by Tom Marien with over 200 members, was bogged down by manual standing orders that made membership and payment processing take two to three full weeks each month. Seeking an online solution with clear visibility of members and payments, One Element turned to GoCardless and the GoCardless for TeamUp integration.

GoCardless implemented Direct Debit via the TeamUp integration (upgrading to GoCardless Pro and adding clearer bank statement references), letting One Element manage memberships, franchise payments, refunds and upgrades in one place. The result: admin time fell from roughly two weeks a month to about 1–2 hours a week, member payment queries dropped, cash flow became more regular, and overall payment management became far more scalable thanks to GoCardless.
