Receipt Bank, an accounting and expense-management provider serving over 5,000 firms and tens of thousands of small businesses across the UK, France, the US and Australia, needed a more scalable, cost-effective way to handle recurring payments as it grew rapidly. Previously reliant on card payments, Receipt Bank sought a provider that offered Direct Debit with strong integration and reporting — and chose GoCardless for Direct Debit and its developer-friendly API.

Receipt Bank integrated with the GoCardless API and later upgraded to GoCardless Pro to access volume-based pricing and additional customisation. The move cut transaction costs and reduced admin time, is intuitive for finance and support teams, and has driven adoption so that the UK business is now almost 100% Direct Debit. Receipt Bank has already migrated French mandates to GoCardless Pro and plans to expand the service to Australia.
