Norwich Residential Management (NRM) manages more than 6,000 residential units across 100 developments and was struggling with time-consuming, error-prone cash collection from cheques, standing orders and bank transfers. To solve this, NRM turned to GoCardless, deploying GoCardless for Sage50 to automate recurring payments and reduce manual reconciliation and chasing.

By integrating GoCardless with Sage50 and switching customers to Direct Debit, NRM cut reconciliation time by around 2–3 days a month, reduced reminder letters on long-run developments from over 20% to under 2%, and achieved up to 80% Direct Debit adoption on some sites. GoCardless’s mandate setup and failure notifications eliminated many payment errors, freed staff for higher-value work, and allowed NRM to scale without adding support headcount.
