Martialytics, a provider of end-to-end management software for martial arts schools, needed a low-cost, multi-country alternative to card payments as customers sought cheaper recurring billing options. With users in 32 countries and demand in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, Martialytics chose GoCardless to offer Direct Debit so schools could avoid high card processing fees and support a global customer base.
Martialytics built a custom integration with GoCardless that lets schools set up Direct Debit in minutes and manage recurring payments from their existing dashboard. Since launch 135 customers have signed up to GoCardless, many onboarding themselves quickly, and customers like The Honbu now collect almost all payments by Direct Debit (only 1–2 of 260 students remain on card) while enjoying faster payout times—reduced from five working days to about two—demonstrating clear cost and cash‑flow benefits from the GoCardless partnership.
