Case Study: Hallway achieves streamlined payments and reduced admin time with GoCardless

A GoCardless Case Study

Preview of the Hallway Case Study

Low transaction rates, reduced admin time and reduction in debtor days

Hallway, a Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) and web design agency founded by Matthew Hall, faced growing pain from manual billing and late payments when clients paid by cheque or bank transfer. To automate collections and avoid high card fees and complex integrations, Hallway adopted GoCardless for Direct Debit and integrated with the GoCardless API.

GoCardless automated billing, reduced debtor days and cut admin time—Hallway’s bookkeeper now spends about an hour a month on reconciliations instead of 1–2 days—and payments are reliably on time. Transaction costs fell dramatically (GoCardless caps fees at £2 versus card fees that could be hundreds), allowing Hallway to lower costs, streamline operations and refocus the team on client work.
