LD Fitness, a 4,500 sq ft gym run by Lee and Michelle Drayton with around 470 active members, was struggling with cash flow and member management because its previous Direct Debit provider (DFC) only collected on a few fixed days and paid out after 7–20 days. Sign-up was clunky and Lee often only discovered cancellations months later, making it hard to retain members. LD Fitness implemented GoCardless via its ClubRight partner to address these problems.

GoCardless delivered faster, more flexible payouts, lower transaction costs and real-time payment updates through the ClubRight integration, and the switch was completed in 24–48 hours. LD Fitness has moved around half its contracted members to GoCardless, improved cash flow and sign-up ease, avoided aggressive outsourced debt recovery, and—thanks to immediate notifications and outreach—won back 90% of members who cancelled a mandate.
