Cone Accounting, a four-person firm specialising in compliance and financial advice for clients in the creative industries, struggled with slow, manual payments and extra admin when clients paid by standing order or bank transfer. To simplify collections and improve client experience they adopted GoCardless (using GoCardless for Xero) to take recurring and ad hoc payments via Direct Debit, embedding the mandate form into their onboarding.
GoCardless automated collections, sends payment notifications, and retries failed payments, giving Cone Accounting predictable cash flow and on-time receipts. As a result, Cone Accounting reduced debtor days to zero, saves about two days of administration each month, and reports lower costs and better value compared with previous providers — all credited to the GoCardless integration.
