Case Study: Royal Caribbean achieves real-time portfolio visibility and major cost & time savings with Globant

A Globant Case Study

Preview of the Royal Caribbean Case Study

Globant’s quest to streamline work at the world’s top-grossing cruise line

Royal Caribbean, the world’s top‑grossing cruise line with roughly 20% of global cruise travel, needed more reliable, real‑time data and standardized processes across its Agile, product, and engineering pods to improve forecasting and portfolio oversight. They engaged Globant—an Atlassian partner—to assess and redesign their Jira and Confluence setup and establish consistent ways of working for epics, stories, sizing, prioritization, planning, and cross‑release management.

Globant’s Process Optimization Studio delivered a phased assessment‑to‑implementation approach (discover “as‑is,” design “to‑be,” sandbox, migrate, train, deploy, automate reporting) and instituted a portfolio/program/team reporting hierarchy. Results include $43,717 saved by reducing redundant Atlassian seats, 100% automated program reporting with real‑time 30/60/90‑day views, manual report generation cut from 8 hours/month to 15 minutes, stakeholder explanation time reduced from hours to ~20 minutes, seven unused projects retired, and seven standardized Scrum workflows deployed—outcomes Globant continues to scale through change management to make Jira a single source of truth.
