Case Study: Ticketmaster achieves weekly mobile releases with GitLab CI

A GitLab Case Study

Preview of the Ticketmaster Case Study

How GitLab CI supported Ticketmaster's ramp up to weekly mobile releases

Ticketmaster’s mobile team faced a bottleneck in their release process: a legacy Jenkins CI pipeline that could take up to two hours for releases, preventing the team from achieving their goal of weekly Android and iOS app updates. Already using GitLab for code review, Ticketmaster evaluated and adopted GitLab CI to modernize their build and release workflow.

Using GitLab CI (integrated with Amazon ECR for Docker images), Ticketmaster rebuilt Android and iOS pipelines so build, test, and artifact publishing take under eight minutes, enabling weekly releases since February. GitLab CI also provided CI analytics and tighter quality checks (e.g., SonarQube integration), contributing to measurable gains such as a 99.5% crash-free rate and improved app-store feedback, faster cycle time, and more consistent rollouts.
