Global tax software giant Avalara powers customer growth with GitLab

Avalara, a global tax compliance software company, was managing a patchwork of development tools and processes created through years of acquisitions. With GitLab, Avalara consolidated Jenkins and GitHub into one end-to-end DevSecOps platform, standardized security controls and quality gates, and streamlined builds and deployments through automated pipelines. The results were substantial: merge request cycle times dropped from four weeks to a few hours, deployment frequency improved by 1,100%, and deployment problems were reduced by 90%. GitLab also helped Avalara increase releases from about 30 per year to roughly 30 per month, while improving code sharing, compliance, and confidence in delivery timelines.
