TELUS streamlined productivity by replacing their DevOps tools with GitHub

TELUS, a Canadian communications and IT provider serving more than 35 million people, faced a fragmented DevOps stack that slowed development and testing across its large distributed engineering teams. To solve this, TELUS partnered with GitHub and adopted GitHub as a central platform for software development, collaboration, and workflow management.

GitHub implemented tools including Issues, Codespaces, Actions, and GitHub Advanced Security to standardize development environments, automate testing and deployment, and improve security. The results included faster onboarding, with new developers up and running in minutes, GitHub Actions saving each developer about two hours per week, and thousands of exposed secrets found and remediated through secret scanning and push protection.
