JetBlue opens 9,000-square-foot BlueHouse lounge with Gensler

JetBlue sought to compete for high-value travelers by enhancing its premium airport experience, a key differentiator in the airline industry. The challenge was to create a hospitality-driven lounge that would serve as a strategic extension of its brand and appeal to customers seeking comfort and personalization. They engaged the architecture and design firm Gensler to develop this new offering.

Gensler designed and delivered BlueHouse, JetBlue's first-ever airport lounge at JFK Terminal 5. The 9,000-square-foot solution provides a uniquely New York-inspired environment with flexible social spaces, quiet work areas, and locally curated amenities. This project was a major milestone in JetBlue's strategy to expand its premium offerings, strengthening its appeal to high-yield travelers and reinforcing its customer-first brand identity. The work by Gensler successfully helped the airline build brand loyalty and meet the growing demand for premium travel amenities.
