The inspection-as-a-service tools that revamped one insurer’s claims estimates

US Auto Insurer, a U.S. auto insurer operating in 17 states, wanted to lower the cost of writing claims estimates and reduce its dependence on independent appraisers while improving the productivity and accuracy of its internal appraisers. Genpact helped address this challenge with OnSource, its inspection-as-a-service offering for property and casualty insurers.

Genpact implemented OnSource integrated with Genpact Cora to streamline estimate creation through a network of photo inspectors, a smartphone self-inspection app, and QA review before estimates were sent back to the carrier. The result was a 40% reduction in independent appraiser spend, more than $500,000 in reduced loss adjustment expense, nearly double the daily written estimates per appraiser, and stable average claim severity at $1,500 with a 28% supplement rate.
