Mindstrong Finds Sourcing and Hiring Efficiency with Gem

Mindstrong, a Mountain View–based mental healthcare company building a virtual care model for people with serious mental illness, faced recruiting challenges as it scaled from ~80 to 150 employees during 2020. Recruiters relied on disparate spreadsheets, manual follow-ups, and limited visibility into funnel metrics, leaving outreach inconsistent and passthrough rates opaque—so the team adopted Gem’s recruiting platform to centralize sourcing and follow-up.

Gem implemented sequenced outreach, email discovery and auto-logging, and Pipeline Analytics, enabling set-and-forget campaigns and team-wide visibility. The results: higher response rates (a data-engineer sequence hit 36% responses, with 15% coming from second/third emails), elimination of spreadsheet workflows, clearer bottleneck identification (leading to process changes around clinical assessments), and measurable hiring impact—Mindstrong hired 65 people in H1 with 13% of hires sourced through Gem.
