A GBG Case Study
AmBank Group, the retail arm of AMMB Holdings and a major Malaysian financial services provider, faced rapidly growing digital channels and rising cyber‑fraud risk as digital transactions grew to 75% of activity. Under new Bank Negara Malaysia technology risk rules and with complex fraud typologies increasing, AmBank Group could no longer rely on its dated, siloed fraud systems and engaged GBG to bolster its digital risk management—initially deploying Instinct and later the Predator and SecureBank solution suite.
GBG implemented an end‑to‑end fraud and endpoint threat platform—Predator for transaction monitoring and SecureBank for device/malware/bot detection—giving AmBank Group centralized, cross‑channel protection and faster onboarding of new digital products. The deployment helped prevent more than RM2.7 million in potential digital fraud on AmOnline since December 2019, mitigated RM22 million in application fraud in 2019, reduced false positives to under 4%, and contributed to an 11% YoY lift in customer satisfaction to 72%.
