Currencies Direct, an award-winning foreign exchange and currency transfer company, needed to improve identity verification during onboarding and reduce fraud without adding friction for customers using its mobile app and website. To address this, they trialed GBG's identity solutions, adding GBG Mobile Intelligence alongside their existing GBG ID3global checks.
GBG’s Mobile Intelligence used Mobile-to-Person (MPM) matching and mobile fraud signals to silently validate customer data, resulting in a 74% MPM match rate, a 5% increase in automatic onboarding acceptance, fewer manual reviews, and the detection of a high-risk SIM swap that prevented £25,000 in fraud losses. Following the successful pilot, Currencies Direct chose to add GBG Mobile Intelligence to its new card onboarding process.
