TrueCar, a digital automotive marketplace serving 500+ partners and a network of 16,000 dealers, sought to improve purchase intent and conversions by addressing limitations in its site search and configurator flows. The existing search forced shoppers to choose only new or only used vehicles, and the product team needed evidence that a unified search and optimizations to the configurator would increase engagement and drive more leads.

Using FullStory to capture experience data and inform A/B tests, TrueCar validated a unified search that showed both new and used results and refined the configurator flow. The tests demonstrated that users navigated the new search easily and generated about 3,000 incremental leads per month, while configurator engagement rose 50% over three months.
