Southlake–Carroll ISD Leverages Data Analytics to Educate and Empower Board Members

Carroll Independent School District, a K–12 district serving more than 8,000 students with an annual operating budget of $129,482,079, needed to onboard newly elected board members with a clear, actionable understanding of district finances and key performance indicators. Assistant Superintendent for Financial Services William Wooten engaged Frontline Education, deploying Frontline Comparative Analytics and Frontline Financial and Budget Analytics, to help translate complex budget data into board-ready information.

Frontline Education worked with Wooten to create a visual, dashboard-based PowerPoint and a one-page dashboard that compares actuals, trends, and projections for revenues, expenditures, and fund balance. The solution gave board members greater clarity (one member noted fund balance is not a “flat amount”), enabled faster, data-driven decision making, empowered departments to monitor and plan more effectively, and saved staff time by delivering actionable financial insights.
