A Frontline Education Case Study
Merrillville Community School Corporation, a K-12 district in Lake County, Indiana with 16,000 students, needed a way to support learning when COVID-19 forced all classes online in 2020. Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction Dr. Dexter Suggs said the district needed a platform to help create a virtual learning environment conducive to learning for all students.
Using Frontline Education’s Student Analytics Lab, formerly SLab, the district built dashboards from Google Classroom data to track student engagement by school, grade, income, demographics, and more. Merrillville trained approximately 30 building leaders and administrators to use the tool, allowing them to drill down to student-level lists, bookmark students needing intervention, and set up early-intervention flags; Frontline Education also provided regular summaries to support the effort.
