How Blue Valley Schools upholds a stellar academic record

Blue Valley Schools, a K–12 district of 22,078 students and 1,418 classified staff serving families who speak 70 primary languages, faced a Board mandate to ensure an exemplary teacher in every classroom and to deepen personalized student learning. To meet that goal the district partnered with Frontline Education, implementing Frontline Recruiting & Hiring, Frontline Absence & Time and Frontline Professional Growth alongside a refreshed HR brand (“Dedication. Collaboration. Innovation.”) to attract and evaluate top talent.

Using Frontline Education’s systems to widen recruiting channels, track and forecast absences, and measure teacher growth, Blue Valley improved hiring, substitute placement and targeted professional development. The district’s measurable outcomes include outperforming nearly every education system on PISA (first in reading, average score 538), inclusion on the College Board’s AP Honor Roll, the highest-ever district SAT results for the class of 2016, a 91% community approval rating for teachers, multiple statewide educator awards and a No. 1 placement on Niche’s “Best Places to Teach in Kansas.”
