The Education Division of the City of Helsinki Chose Frends Ipaas to Be Its Strategical Integration Platform

The City of Helsinki’s Education Division needed a strategic integration platform to connect more than 20 systems across AWS, Azure, and on-premise environments, while modernizing legacy applications and creating a reusable API layer for current and future digital services. It chose Frends Enterprise iPaaS, also referred to in the case study as Frends iPaaS, to move data flexibly between platforms, keep information updated in real time, and reduce compatibility issues across its complex IT landscape.

With Frends Enterprise iPaaS, Helsinki built APIs for school matching, data-driven leadership, and broader system integration, enabling reuse of integrations across projects and simplifying upgrades without changing underlying systems. The solution integrated legacy and modern systems, supported hybrid multi-cloud operations, and helped manage around 10,000 API calls per day. According to the case study, the initial deployment was delivered on time and on budget, while reuse of APIs and integrations saved significant time and money.
