Vanderbilt reduces PCI scope across campus with PCI Validated P2PE

Vanderbilt University, an internationally recognized research university in Nashville with about 13,000 students and 25,000 faculty and staff, needed a campus-wide solution for accepting credit cards with EMV and NFC while minimizing fraud exposure and PCI DSS compliance scope. To meet that goal, Vanderbilt worked with FreedomPay to implement PCI Validated P2PE payment acceptance across campus.

FreedomPay planned and tested the rollout, supported a self-installation with remote assistance, and collaborated with CBORD to resolve implementation issues and push an update. FreedomPay’s validated P2PE payment terminals were deployed across dining halls, the health center, box office, card office and student rec center, enabling secure card acceptance for students, staff and visitors and delivering measurable PCI DSS scope reduction and lower fraud liability for Vanderbilt University.
