A Fourth Case Study
Krystal, the Southern quick-service chain founded in 1932, operates more than 350 restaurants across 11 states and supports about 7,000 employees from its Atlanta center. As the company launched a multi-year corporate revitalization—including remodels and expanded delivery—it faced above-average turnover, unengaging paper- and laptop-based training, and a multi-generational workforce that needed more flexible, modern learning.
Krystal implemented the Schoox learning management system (integrated with UltiPro) in phased rollouts, using short, mobile-friendly, brand-customized courses and a goals module to replace annual reviews. Managers adopted the platform quickly, enabling consistent training, career-path development, and improved operational quality. Since deployment, Krystal reported a 30% increase in employee retention, a 5 percentage-point rise in customer satisfaction, and 11,800 hours of training completed in 2018.
