Kontur, a geospatial data and real-time risk management solutions provider, wanted to publicly share a vast 20-year dataset on global wildfires to illustrate the impact of climate change. Foursquare implemented a solution using its Studio Map SDK and Hex Tiles, which transformed and visualized the enormous wildfire dataset in real-time directly within a browser. The solution included a timestamp filter for timeline playback and deeper analysis. Using Foursquare's technology, Kontur also enriched climate models to visualize vulnerable populations facing extreme heat. The result empowered Kontur's users to analyze global climate trends in real-time and make informed decisions, from high-level strategy to immediate actions.
