AAA Life Insurance, part of the AAA family and provider of over one million policies, relies on a POWER7+ IBM i environment as the backbone of its operations. The IT team faced the challenge of managing thousands of jobs across IBM i and Windows platforms, monitoring subsystems and alerts, running unattended backups without production downtime, and securely escalating developer rights—tasks that previously required significant manual oversight.
By deploying HelpSystems’ workload automation, job scheduling, message/event monitoring, backup management (Robot SAVE) and access tools, AAA Life automated more than 2,000 SQL jobs and 500+ IBM i jobs, implemented two-way alerting for on-call staff, and achieved zero production downtime for backups using HA replication and reactive scheduling. The result was a more efficient, reliable operations environment with improved monitoring, faster issue escalation, and reduced manual intervention.
