Proximus blankets Belgium with WiFi in record time and offers great connectivity experience to its customers

Proximus, Belgium’s largest telecommunications operator, wanted to strengthen customer loyalty, differentiate its offering, and rapidly meet the connectivity needs of millions of local users and foreign visitors. To do this, it partnered with Fontech and used a WiFi connectivity solution that could be deployed quickly and at scale.

Fontech helped Proximus launch a dense hotspot network by enabling “Share&Connect” on customer routers and providing a free app for broadband subscribers to connect seamlessly outside the home. The result was a record rollout of 1.2 million hotspots in 6 months, 97% acceptance of the WiFi service, data cost savings through offloading, tens of thousands of daily passes sold each month, and over 4GB of average monthly data consumed per user.

Proximus
