Case Study: Alaska Airlines achieves rapid checklist processing and real-time data flow with Fluix

A Fluix Case Study

Preview of the Alaska Airlines Case Study

Alaska Airlines Meets the Operational Challenge with Fluix

Alaska Airlines, the fifth-largest U.S. carrier, faced a time-consuming, error-prone process in its Functional Check Flight group: crews filled paper checklists during test flights, then transcribed data into PDFs and spreadsheets for analysis. After an early move to iPads with Readdle’s PDF Expert still left them unable to export data to a database, Operations Manager Bob Hoelzen turned to Fluix’s paperless workflow solution to streamline in-flight data capture and distribution.

Fluix was rolled out after a January 2015 trial, with pilots quickly adopting the app’s submit workflow and XFDF export so data flows straight from iPads into the company database. Using Fluix (including the Cabinet feature for cross-team and vendor visibility) cut tasks that used to take hours down to minutes, enabled crews to send completed forms with 150+ data points to Maintenance and Engineering before leaving the cockpit, and improved real-time coordination across Scheduling, Finance and Maintenance.
