A Fivetran Case Study
Intercom, the maker of a Conversational Relationship Platform, needed a reliable way to integrate Zuora subscription invoicing data into Amazon Redshift after adding Zuora to its finance stack. Their existing ETL produced product‑breaking extraction errors and lacked observability and responsive support, so Intercom evaluated and selected Fivetran (including its Zuora connector) to provide transparency into the data‑extraction process and reduce operational risk.
Fivetran centralized Zuora, Stripe, NetSuite and other sources into Redshift and automated the pipeline so teams could join financial data with product, marketing and sales data for reporting. With Fivetran’s connectors and visibility, manual reconciliation time fell from about 10 hours a week to one hour, data trust improved for finance and executives, and Intercom avoided the engineering effort (an estimated 2–3 builders plus one maintainer) otherwise required to build a similar pipeline.
