Case Study: Sunwest Bank achieves 53% reduction in duplicate CIF records with Fiserv Core Specification Services

A Fiserv Case Study

Preview of the Sunwest Bank Case Study

Working with Fiserv, Sunwest Bank cut its duplicate customer information file (CIF) records in half

Sunwest Bank, a West Coast bank serving entrepreneurs and businesses, faced fragmented customer data after a core update and several acquisitions that left thousands of duplicate customer information file (CIF) records. These duplicates made regulatory reporting, cross-selling and getting a clear view of customer relationships difficult. As a longtime user of Fiserv’s Premier system, Sunwest engaged Fiserv and its Core Specification Services for a CIF optimization review and cleanup.

Fiserv experts remotely identified and merged duplicate records, implemented process improvements to prevent future duplicates, and gave Sunwest a clearer, consolidated view of each customer relationship. The cleanup reduced name CIF records by 53% (from 101,031 to 53,178) and address CIF records by 50% (from 57,369 to 28,873), with an additional manual effort planned to remove 5,280 nonexact name duplicates (an extra 11% reduction), improving reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
