Tesco Bank Technology Provides the Platform for Retail Bank to Reach Lofty Goals

Tesco Bank set out to build a full‑service retail bank that would offer simple, transparent, loyalty‑rewarding products and migrate off legacy Royal Bank of Scotland systems to support millions of customers. To execute this ambitious plan — including the need to support up to 6 million accounts and launch new products — Tesco Bank selected Fiserv to provide core banking and supporting technology.

Fiserv implemented its Signature core banking platform along with Corillian Online, Aperio, Nautilus and solutions for fraud prevention and reconciliation, migrating 1 million customers from RBS and enabling new digital capabilities. With Fiserv’s platform in place Tesco Bank added 1.6 million customer accounts, grew deposits by 107%, increased customer lending by 95%, now processes 90% of business online, and shortened account opening to minutes, positioning the bank for continued growth.
