New Channel Helps Company Meet Cardmembers Where They Want to Pay Their Bills

Alliance Data, a provider of branded credit and loyalty programs for more than 145 partner brands, found many cardmembers preferred to view and pay bills through their bank’s website rather than the brand portals. To meet cardmember preferences and extend its billing reach, Alliance Data turned to Fiserv and its eBill Distribution service (along with eBill Easy Activation and Electronic Remittance) to deliver billing and payment options through the banking channel.

Fiserv implemented eBill Distribution to reach nearly 4,000 financial institutions and used eBill Easy Activation’s 90-day opt-in trial plus Electronic Remittance to streamline enrollment and payment posting. The result: more than 1 million cardmembers receive bills in the bank channel, a consistent 68% net new paperless conversion over three years, and a less than 2% decline rate in e-bill enrollment, while Fiserv’s remittance services reduced time to receive and post payments.
