Merck Sharp & Dohme Federal Credit Union, which serves nearly 30,000 members, needed to deliver faster, more convenient member service while maintaining strong security for account data. To address member demand for speed and employees’ frustrations with forgotten passwords and lost access fobs, the credit union turned to Fiserv and its Verifast™ suite of biometric authentication solutions.

Fiserv deployed Verifast palm-vein scanners across branches and workstations (Verifast Branch, SSO and Access), enabling quick member identification at teller stations and password- and fob-free employee access to systems and facilities. The result: tellers save time and spend more face-to-face with members, employee password resets have decreased, and issues with lost or broken access fobs have been eliminated, delivering faster, more secure service for the credit union.
