Maps Credit Union, a Salem, OR–based credit union serving over 50,000 members, faced slow, error-prone business processes driven by manual data entry and rising operational costs. To modernize, Maps implemented the DNA account processing platform from Fiserv and adopted the DNAcreator toolkit to give its development team open API access to automate workflows.
Using Fiserv’s DNA and DNAcreator, Maps automated routine transactions and maintenance via the DNA core API, eliminating hundreds of hours of manual entry, converting NSF notices to e-notices (saving about $30,000 annually, ~17% of postage), preventing $6,000 in IRS penalties a year, and adding 2,000 additional loss-prevention warnings without extra data-entry time. The automation also streamlined card-activation and member communications, helped reduce risk, and earned Maps a Celent Model Bank Award for innovation.
