Community Service Credit Union For Personal Identification, Verifast from Fiserv Uses Biometric Technology to Scan the Vein Pattern of the Palm

Community Service Credit Union (CSCU) sought to strengthen member authentication and speed branch transactions while reducing IT overhead. The credit union, which uses Galaxy from Fiserv for account processing, added Fiserv’s Verifast: Palm Authentication and Verifast: Employee Palm Authentication to address security, member trust and the burden of managing many passwords with a very small IT team.

Fiserv implemented its palm‑vein Verifast solution (integrated with IMM and Fujitsu tablets), replacing passwords and IDs with biometric scans. The deployment eliminated frequent password resets, reduced IT interruptions and consultant costs, led CSCU to expand the pilot to all staff, and cut transaction time by an estimated 30–90 seconds—boosting branch efficiency, member convenience and compliance with stronger authentication guidelines.
