Staley Credit Union, a not-for-profit financial cooperative serving members in Illinois and Indiana, faced revenue shortfalls as prolonged low interest rates squeezed traditional loan margins. In 2011 Staley Credit Union partnered with Fiserv to deploy CardVision, Fiserv’s analytics, insights and marketing campaign service, to find new sources of revenue through improved debit card interchange and cardholder engagement.

Fiserv delivered CardVision’s monthly scorecards and network reports, segmentation and turnkey targeted campaigns plus a dedicated consultant to guide strategy and execution. The results included an 18% increase in active cards, a 26.4% rise in total debit transactions (about two additional transactions per card per month), and a 41% increase in interchange revenue ($142,000) over three years, outcomes that earned Staley Credit Union Fiserv’s Cardholder Engagement Award.
