Bethpage Federal Credit Union Moves Money Faster and Brings in More Deposits With NOW® Gateway

Bethpage Federal Credit Union, the largest credit union in New York with over 440,000 members, wanted to lead in real-time money movement and quickly add real-time payment capabilities for members. To do this, Bethpage partnered with Fiserv and became the first credit union to connect to The Clearing House via NOW® Gateway: RTP® Network, leveraging its existing Zelle® infrastructure to pilot the service with minimal disruption.

Fiserv implemented NOW Gateway: RTP Network using the repeatable architecture Bethpage already used for Zelle®, requiring little technical work or changes to GLs/back-end processes. The results were immediate: day-one robust money movement, month-over-month transactions tripled, an average of over $7 million in RTP deposits per month in the first eight months (more than $56 million total), roughly 10,000+ RTP transactions per month, and 86% average month-over-month growth—demonstrating Fiserv enabled fast deployment and a measurable boost in deposits.
