Bank Zachodni WBK, part of the Santander Group, faced the challenge of merging Belgian KBC Bank’s Polish operations into its own systems and migrating 1.4 million customer account records onto its existing Signature platform. To execute this mission-critical, weekend “big bang” migration without disrupting customer service, the bank engaged Fiserv to manage the data transfer and integration.

Fiserv developed a customised data loader and led data mapping, reconciliation and performance testing for the Signature platform, completing the final load in under 20 minutes (well within the bank’s three-hour target) during a single weekend. Fiserv processed 1.4 million current accounts, ~55k time deposits, 150k loan accounts and ~500k auxiliary records; post-migration the bank now runs 6.5 million active accounts on Signature with 134 million monthly transactions (650k transactions per hour), and reported no degradation in processing or customer service.
