City of Fairfax - Achieving Northern Virginia's Interagency Vision with First Due

The City of Fairfax Fire Department, like many departments across Northern Virginia, faced a significant challenge in sharing pre-incident plans and critical data across multiple jurisdictions. They relied on outdated paper binders and thumb drives, which were difficult to maintain, distribute, and keep accurate, hindering effective interagency coordination during emergencies. To solve this, they turned to the vendor First Due.

By implementing the First Due platform, the department and its 13 regional partners were able to centralize all pre-incident planning data into a single, always-current digital system. This solution provided responders with immediate access to actionable information, including building details and live camera feeds, enabling safer and more informed tactical decisions en route to calls. First Due transformed the attitude towards pre-planning across the region, significantly improving interagency interoperability and operational safety.
