FBD Insurance Finds Shelter From the Claims Storm

FBD Insurance, a Dublin-based division of FBD Holdings, needed to replace a creaking legacy claims system so it could automate processes and proactively manage auto, home, small‑business and agriculture claims. After evaluating six vendors, FBD selected FINEOS and its FINEOS Claims platform, initially piloting it as a call‑center application before committing to an enterprise‑wide rollout.

FINEOS implemented the FINEOS Claims platform using an agile, staged approach and integrated it into FBD’s new virtualized environment. The system went live in late November 2010—just ahead of a severe blizzard—after which FBD logged as many freeze claims from that single event as it had in the previous nine months, and within four months had clear visibility of its entire book. FINEOS also addressed early configuration issues and later delivered improved summary screens; the result is a proactive, automated claims lifecycle that supports regulatory needs and smoother third‑party data exchanges.
