BT, a 174‑year‑old telecommunications provider operating in over 180 countries, reorganized into cross‑functional product squads but hit workflow pain points: designers, product owners, engineers and content designers were juggling docs, Sketch, InVision, Jira and other tools, creating silos, slow hand‑offs and reduced focus on user experience. To address this, BT evaluated new tooling and piloted Figma’s web‑based design and prototyping platform.
BT piloted and then rolled Figma out across all product squads; Figma enabled real‑time collaboration, easier hand‑offs, in‑file commenting for stakeholders, and greater visibility for product owners and engineers. By replacing Sketch and InVision with Figma, BT cut design‑tool costs by 50%, sped up delivery of products and features, improved design consistency and maintained business continuity during remote work—benefits BT attributes directly to Figma.
