A FICO Case Study
VTB24, Russia’s second-largest retail bank serving individuals, entrepreneurs and small businesses, faced slow, inflexible lending decisions that couldn’t scale with a growing market — loan decisions took about 20 minutes and risked slowing further as volume rose. The bank needed a more adaptable, scalable system to speed approvals, refine credit models quickly, and maintain market share amid changing economic conditions.
VTB24 implemented FICO Origination Manager (Decision and Application Processing modules), enabling analysts to update business rules without IT and integrating with internal and external systems. As a result, cash-loan processing fell to under 5 minutes, the bank can handle roughly 3,500 applications per hour across 1,000 locations, approval times were cut by 50%, and decision strategies can now be updated in weeks rather than months, helping preserve and grow market share.
