Riyad Bank of Saudi Arabia set out to replace a largely manual, judgmental credit‑decision and processing environment with an automated, risk‑based system to support growing credit‑card demand while ensuring consistent, culturally unbiased decisions and regulatory compliance.
The bank implemented FICO’s origination software in‑house and deployed FICO® TRIAD® Customer Manager via First Data Resources Ltd for behavior scoring and automated account management. The changes produced strong results: classic‑portfolio accounts rose ~27% (balances +15%, net income +35%, debit actives +20%) and gold‑portfolio accounts rose ~17% (balances +35%, net income +44%) while multi‑cycle delinquency rates fell substantially. Automation also improved consistency, productivity, MIS, and customer treatment, prompting an accelerated nationwide rollout and giving Riyad a competitive edge.
