Case Study: Multinational Online Retailer achieves faster seller onboarding, reduced fraud and higher profits with FICO Decision Management Suite

A FICO Case Study

Preview of the Multinational Online Retailer Case Study

For This Multinational Online Retailer, Higher Profits Start with and Build from Better Seller Onboarding

A multinational online retailer needed to onboard many more sellers to expand product selection and revenue, but found losses, fraud and poor seller behavior were eroding profits and reputation. The challenge was to accelerate onboarding at scale while preventing “bad sellers” from entering the marketplace and to monitor seller behavior during the critical early months of the relationship.

The company piloted the FICO Decision Management Suite in the FICO Analytic Cloud—using Data Orchestrator, Model Builder, Blaze Advisor and Decision Modeler—to process daily batches with ~1,500 variables for 2–5 million sellers, then moved the solution on‑premises to near real‑time monitoring of nearly 5 million sellers and 100+ million transactions per day. The automated scoring and decision engine sped onboarding, increased revenue, cut costs and losses from fraud and abuse, and freed staff from manual work while extending controls into ongoing seller relationship management.
