China Minsheng Bank moved to capitalize on customers’ shift to e‑services by automating its credit card origination process so applicants could apply via online or mobile channels and receive instant decisions. The challenge was to replace a slow, face‑to‑face, month‑long approval process with a digital, multi‑channel workflow that improved response times, reach and customer experience.
The bank implemented FICO Blaze Advisor to manage decision rules and scoring, integrating external transaction and behavior data across channels (mobile, WeChat, QR, third‑party apps and web). Launched within six months, the solution processed more than 3.5 million online applications in just over a year, achieved automated processing rates up to 85%, delivered decisions within three minutes and reduced card delivery time to five days.
