A FICO Case Study
Marlette Funding, a high‑growth online personal‑loan lender founded in 2014, needed to upgrade its origination risk models to rely on internal data sources and correct for sample bias from rejected applications. The challenge was to build more predictive scorecards while handling limited performance data and applying reject inference to reduce bias in lending decisions.
Marlette implemented FICO Analytic Modeler Scorecard Professional to develop transparent, flexible scorecards that adjust for imperfect data and incorporate reject inference. The new models delivered immediate lift—improving predictive power, enhancing risk/return metrics and overall credit‑risk efficiency—enabling better lending decisions and supporting the company’s continued growth.
