How a NYC-Area Hospital Reduced Noise Disruptions and Improved Patient Rest with Real-Time Feedback

NYC Hospital faced a challenge with excessive ambient noise in its shared patient environments. This issue was negatively affecting patient experience scores and disrupting rest, a core part of the healing process. Leadership identified several contributors but lacked an effective method to track data and make improvements. To address this, they partnered with FeedbackNow.

FeedbackNow deployed its Noise Sensor technology to passively monitor decibel levels in real-time across inpatient units. This data allowed staff to correlate noise spikes with specific activities and coach teams on behavior changes. As a result, patients reported feeling more respected and able to rest, and the hospital saw an increased awareness of noise as a clinical priority. The successful pilot program is now being expanded across all inpatient units.
